Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. In the following year, her music began to circulate throughout the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is one of the songs was written by her and Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on September 5, 2018 with the music video. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she then came out with two additional singles, No One or Pedigree. They then teamed up on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same name. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was made available for the track. The track has received over 3 million views on YouTube in its debut week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
