Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. In the following year, her music began to circulate throughout the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna.
